Pastor's Bio

Rev. Steven E. Edwards

Rev. Steven Edwards received his call to ministry in 1979 as a son of the Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C.C. Robertson. Through the years, life and ministry afforded him opportunities to serve God’s people at both the Jordan Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor R. M. Robertson, and at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Paul E. Walker until God called him to Pastor his chosen flock.

Rev. Edwards was called in 1990 to Pastor the Fourth Ward Missionary Baptist Church of Ennis, Texas, where he served faithfully as Senior Pastor for 31 years, and made an indelible impact on the cities of Ennis and Waxahachie.  Serving through the COVID 19 Pandemic and some physical limitations Pastor Edwards, retired in 2021.  During retirement he would continue to visit Fourth Ward from time to time as well as other churches and would never pass on an opportunity to preach and teach God’s Word. Only the Lord knew that Pastor Edwards retirement would be brief.  March 2024 brought a sudden vacancy of the pulpit at Fourth Ward and on the First Sunday in May 2024, Pastor Edwards officially came out of retirement to once again to Pastor God’s chosen people at Fourth Ward.

Pastor Edwards is a degreed Master Theologian.  He is the son of the late Floyd and Bobbie Edwards.  He has a loving wife, Darlene, of 35 years, and a legacy of 3 adult sons and 11 grandchildren.  Pastor Edwards will always be a voice crying in the wilderness.
