Rev. Massey accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Fourth Ward Missionary Baptist Church in 1985, under the leadership of Pastor James H. McNeil. Rev. Massey grew up in the True Vine Missionary Baptist Church and at the age of 18 became an ordained deacon under the leadership of Pastor James L. Sears.
